Kazzam City Raid!

One Night In Vegas was a totally amazing race!

Flawlessly organised and jam packed with challenges and adventure.

Never having participated in an event like this before, we were full of trepidation, excitement and adrenalin, so much so we forgot where we parked our car!

Once briefed with the course and the maps, we planned our route around the city strategically trying to focus on completing as many challenges as possible while avoiding the stampede of the other one hundred frantic teams.

Not being familiar with Brisbane in any way, we found it really easy to get around using public transport, timed exactly to intercept with mysterious people wearing coloured hats (who were worth a lot of points should we manage to locate them).

Being a rogaine style race, we were able to choose which challenges we did and in which order. Mesmerised by the city lights we found ourselves running between checkpoints faster then we had ever run before and the cheers and support from local pub goers made us feel like we were on the Amazing Race!

Although each team was competing for the highest score, it was a wonderful social event and we made a lot of new friends, some who even went out of their way to help us complete the course. We also must have made some onlookers question our sanity as we searched chairs, trees and lamp posts looking for check points.

Our favourite challenges included riding the Brisbane Eye, with fantastic views of the city, learning to make coffee, building sand sculptures, looking for particular items in shops and solving puzzles.

It was a night of extreme adventure and the most fun you could have in one night.

We can’t wait for the next one!

Amanda Syddall, team Kazzam.
